The European Skin Research Foundation (ESRF) provides funding to skin researchers through "ESRF New Investigator Awards". A total of four awards with a maximum limit of 15,000 Euros each are available in each application period.

Applicants are likely to be under 35 years of age, affiliated with a European university and at the point of developing research independence. Awardees will be expected to present their research output at relevant European scientific meetings. The funding can provide personal support, consumables and exchange fellowship opportunities. It is expected that the host laboratory would have sufficient facilities and equipment to ensure the successful delivery of the proposed project. Applications are assessed by the Scientific Review Committee of the ESRF chaired by Professor Irene Leigh and comprising senior European researchers.
